Levenwick beach, one of Shetland’s finest, lies a short stroll from Mucklehus. Hundreds of yards of clean sand and safe sparkling sea invite you to paddle and, for those a little bit braver, to swim or snorkel. Behind the house, the land rises, through the meadow to the high cliffs, home to many seabirds, including puffins between april and august. The coastline offers easy unrestricted walking for many miles. You will find other beaches throughout the South Mainland and the rest of Shetland- wherever you are there is a beach near you and you will often have it to yourself!
